Principal’s Report

The Terry Fox Walk was a success with $645 raised.  Various sports groups have been underway:  golf league, divisional soccer, volleyball, intramurals with soccer and football.  TGMS held its annual Open House and Book Fair.  The hot lunch program will be starting soon.  The magazine drive will occur October 7-19.  Progress reports were sent out for the end of September, using a new anecdotal format, which focuses on work habits and organizational skills.  Students helped to brainstorm the categories of the report.  Laptop Pilot Project-An opportunity arose to work with the Tech Department on this project.  A laptop was presented to each Gr 8 student to use at school through the year.  The study will look at integrating technology into daily course work.  Each student was also presented with their own USB drive to take work home.  Other benefits have arisen from this project; more computer lab time is now available for the Gr 5-7; the Gr 8 students have an opportunity to share their new knowledge with other students.
